How we cut landed cost without cutting corners

A US manufacturer was importing finished assemblies and paying for it twice: in the unit price, and again at the border. We rebuilt the program around components, tooling, and a cleaner path through customs, and kept quality where it was.

Problem diagnosed. Finished goods were crossing the border as complete assemblies, and the duty was eating the margin.

Strategy redesigned. A part-level look at the product showed which pieces could be sourced and classified on their own.

Tooling built. Molds were designed and made for the custom parts, with DFM so assembly stayed straightforward.

Production scaled. Trial runs came first. Once the parts held up, the program moved into steady volume.
